Active and sporty in winter

Enjoy the winter to the full

The finest pistes and a fantastic snow paradise - that's what the Schladming-Dachstein Region with the 4-Mountain Ski Area is known for worldwide.

Skiers and snowboarders appreciate the huge range of slopes of all levels of difficulty and love the fact that there are always new ski runs and lifts to discover.

Directly from the Pension Steiermark onto the slopes

Start directly from the Pension Steiermark onto the slopes of the Hochwurzen and after a wonderful day of skiing on the 4 ski mountains Planai, Hauser Kaibling, Reiteralm and Hochwurzen you return with your skis - this way you also treat your car to a holiday!

Cross-country skiing

...and even more snow fun

An outstanding and extensive network of skating and classic trails awaits cross-country skiers on the trails in the idyllic Obertal as well as in the nearby centre of Nordic sports, Ramsau am Dachstein.

On 220 kilometres of cross-country trails of varying degrees of difficulty, the beauty of nature and physical activity are combined at their best. Special tip: cross-country skiing on the Dachstein glacier at 2700 metres above sea level. Snowshoe hikers love the untouched winter nature and on quiet paths in deep snow-covered forests and on glistening meadows one enchanting moment follows the next.

Tobogganing by day and night

Only a few metres away from Pension Steiermark you start into a very special pleasure: Tobogganing on the 7 km long natural toboggan run of the Hochwurzen - by day and by night.

The night tobogganing season starts on 25 December, depending on the snow conditions. Tobogganing has always had a very special charm! Experience the adventure for young and old on the perfectly prepared toboggan run. There are four rustic huts along the run for warming up or resting in between. Or for celebrations of all kinds in the evening.

Toboggans can be rented on site at Ski Lenz or at the Tauernalm. You can find more information here: www.nachtrodeln.at/en

With the touring skis off the beaten track

...and on secured slopes

Ski tourers love the deep snow descents in the Schladminger Tauern. However, it is also particularly popular to take touring skis up the open and floodlit slope on the Hochwurzen in the evening. An effort for which there are tasty rewards at the summit.

Romantic

...have a good time with us

A horse-drawn sleigh ride or a dreamy walk through the snow-covered forest - that is pure romance.

When did you last build a snowman? Grab your carrots and let's go...
